In 1999, Ultimate Fakebook made
This Will Be Laughing Week—an independently made record released on Noisome Records that launched a monster touring schedule, a whole slew of new fans, and eventually a major-label deal. Epic/550 asked the band to enter the studio and re-record two tracks from their debut
Electric Kissing Parties, and re-issued the album with those songs and new artwork in 2000.
But the original indie release of
This Will Be Laughing Week was perfect as it was. In fact, it was a creative high point for the band, and the themes of every song were part of a bigger whole—an electrifying power-pop blend that defined high-school and heartbreak for a generation.
Rocket Heart Records is proud to announce the 25th Anniversary Edition of this cult classic album on vinyl for the very first time, remastered and restored to its original track listing to be released in early summer 2024. It includes all the best design elements from both releases, a full-color gatefold and will be a limited edition pressing.
